Pivonka is Slovak for Peony, which are also called Pentecost Roses and several other names by country. When this beautiful, feminine doe joined us she already had her name - and we already had a doe called Peony in the herd. But the beauty and style of this doe really fit her name. What’s in a barn name? Some of ours around here downright don’t match up with our registered names even a little bit. However, this gorgeous girl is something of a Peony and as such I started to call her Pivonka and it stuck!
Pivonka comes to us from the Old Washoe herd to join our herd in participating in ADGA Performance Programs. “Pivonka” will be a first freshener here with us, so photos will trickle in as she freshens and begins working hard at Quaking Canopy Farm!
