How to use your new NDGC Goat Show Leads

With visual aids.

Mr Darcy Fats Junior is a seasoned leading pro and an excellent model.

  • The bottom knot of the lead is meant to sit right under the base of the jaw of your goat.

  • The clear sliding piece allows you to quickly adjust the lead closed to your goat’s neck size.

  • The metal clip can be held in your hand for a long lead line, or clipped back to the lead below the clear slider for a short handle.

Mr Darcy Fats Junior is an interesting name. Mr Darcy Fats Senior is a giant ginger pig, so…

  • The lead can be used for tie out, especially ring side, by clipping directly to fences or railings using the metal clip.

  • The lead easily converts to a full size collar by clipping the metal snap to the end of the lead. This is especially useful for full size goats.

These Does’ leads are sized to their necks using the sliding tube. The metal clip is connected back to the lead below the sliding tube to provide their handler a short loop as a handle.

These Junior does both have their leads on as a long lead. Their handler can practice walking or enter a showring without crouching down while leading their doe around the show ring.

Below are some of our less cooperating juniors we’ve been trying to get to JUST WALK FORWARD…It’s been a rodeo, but thankfully we have good leads to work with.

Typical Uses Include:

  • Show your goats in the ring with your leads. We use these leads for senior does, juniors, and bucks. These leads work for all breeds, and easily convert to a collar when a long lead is not needed.

  • Clip your goats ringside to a chain, a fence, mesh, pole, rail or other safe and secure location.

  • Practice leading with plenty of slack to give pressure and then release to help your goats learn.

  • Clip your lead directly to your goat’s D link on their existing collar to use it as a leash.
