Castle Rock Beam Me Up
Having seen Scotty himself, his immediate relatives especially the does, several daughters, and a large portion of his family tree long before Scotty arrived at Quaking Canopy, I already had this distinctive gut reaction like this buck is going to be one of those highly influential bucks, those names we all still know and reference.
I’d never really tell anyone besides his breeder and owner, mostly because of my own stout, reliable, persistent imposter’s syndrome. Over Summer 2022 my human kids and I enjoyed showing Scotty’s doe kids. At one show with over 80 junior doe entries I observed Scotty daughters (always 2 or more) in the lineup for CH selection under every judge. A Scotty daughter won the first leg of the day and while I did not own the winning doe, I did breed her! She is an Olly daughter by Scotty.
Scotty is here on lease with us and I’ve already retained over a dozen offspring with plans to hang on to a few more in 2023.
